Latin American and Caribbean countries began the third round of negotiations in Uruguay to reach a regional agreement on the application of Principle 10.

Delegates from the countries that signed the declaration on rights of access to information, public participation and justice in environmental matters will meet on April 5-8 in Montevideo.

Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development

Principle 10 seeks to ensure that every person has access to information, can participate in the decision-making process and has access to justice in environmental matters with the aim of safeguarding the right to a healthy and sustainable environment for present and future generations.
